THE PROJECT:

Sushi now becomes a trendy food globally wise. Sometimes it is hard for people from other cultures to choose which one to eat. This app will help people who would like to try Japanese food in a faster way with delivery service as well as learn Japanese food culture all at one time!

THE PROBLEM:

Busy workers and sushi lovers usually spend too much time ordering to find their favorite sushi.

THE GOAL

Design an app for the Sushi lover community to find their affordable, favorite sushi restaurant.

I conducted interview to understand what local users need and want. The primary user group research are people from University to working adult with different culture background. We find out that the group usually had a hard time to decide what to eat and which to choose. Most of the user are looking for faster food order progress to reduce the time on their daily meal.

Goal: Find an affordable fast delivery Asian restaurant app

PAPER WIREFRAMES

Starting from three main screens to ensure the frame structure before starting the digital wireframe. It is good for brainstorm and build up the structure of whole app.

LOW-FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

Low-fidelity prototype was created based on user flow and user research.

MOCKUPS

Improve the menu bar with more color, and add new sections for easier navigation.

FINAL PRODUCT

A user flow shows about the app from the beginning to the purchasing page.

ACCESSIBILITY CONSIDERATION

  1. Strong color comparison for people to get the important sections faster.

  2. Using images for each dish to tell people what the product is.

Impact

The app makes users feel like Sushious has an interesting feature for users to find their favorite sushi dish.

What I learned:

While making the app, I learned how to do problem-solving. Usability study can help to develop your idea better and more user-friendly.

NEXT STEP

  1. Need to improve and add more sections to complete the whole app, such as adding pages for order tracking.

  2. Need to add a section to switch language so that people from different backgrounds could all use it to learn about sushi.

  3. Improve more on Branding by adding more colors.
